Course Abstract:
Participants will attend a 2-day clinically focused hands-on workshop which encompasses intraoral optical scanning utilizing digital images for prosthetic execution of digital overdentures & full-arch fixed prosthetics. This course aims to describe the background, theory, and procedures related to intraoral optical image production and generating scans to assist in digital workflow including treatment planning, treatment execution, and maintenance of prostheses.
Participants will actively utilize intraoral scanners, design software, and CAD-CAM (3D printers and simulated milling) to learn how to generate digital overdentures, models, post-processing, and finishing procedures. Extensive clinically focused demonstration of techniques including fabrication of digital dentures, overdentures, and full-arch fixed restorations will be demonstrated using optical scanning, software design, 3d printing, processing procedures, characterization, and delivery of the prostheses.
Learning Objectives:
Understand diagnosis, treatment planning, and requirements of digital implant overdenture planning
Exposure to information related to image manipulation and stereolithography
Exposure to utilizing digital software to manipulate cases, prosthetic design, and additive manufacturing technology
